Elvin Brito will face Jake Lindsey at BKFC Kansas on Friday night. This BKFC Fight Night: Kansas City headliner will take place on August 16, and many aficionados of gloveless combat expect a thrilling matchup.
'El Bandido' recently rebounded from consecutive losses against Luis Palomino and Carlos Trinidad Snake, a pair of hotly contested points-based defeats.
These bouts saw him lose his BKFC 165-pound title and then fall short to the current number one-ranked welterweight contender. Brito responded by halting previously unbeaten Ja'Far Fortt in forty seconds during their April clash at BKFC Fight Night: Clearwater.
Speaking to Bare Knuckle Bowker about how those decision defeats to Palomino and Trinidad-Snake affected his approach moving forward, Brito said,

"I don't plan on going to the judges. I don't want to see a decision for the rest of my career. I'm either going to beat the hell out of Jake Lindsey, or he's going to catch me and stop me. It's going to be one or the other."

Elvin Brito on facing Jake Lindsey and his long BKFC journey
Elvin Brito has competed with the BKFC since the company's third event. His matchup against Lindsey marks his eleventh bare-knuckle boxing contest. Brito stated that bare-knuckle fighting has a specific mental barrier to it.
The 39-year-old has done great work over the years with the Jungle Camp. His teammates there have included luminaries such as former BKFC light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Lorenzo Hunt and former BKFC heavyweight champion Joey Beltran.
Brito is ranked fourth at 165 pounds. Lindsey is the second-ranked welterweight contender. The victorious side of their pending clash will be well-positioned in the title hierarchy going forward.
The inaugural BKFC welterweight champion has succeeded against standouts such as former boxing champion Julio Garcia. However, the willing brawler has stated he has learned more from his bare-knuckle setbacks than his victories. On two separate occasions, Brito has risen following back-to-back defeats in BKFC to achieve success.
The Puerto Rican native is no stranger to being the away player, either. Before the BKFC Kansas event, Brito said he enjoyed this element. Ahead of battling another fan favorite on their home turf, Elvin Brito stated,
"I just can't wait to go in there and fight Jake Lindsey. Jake Lindsey doesn't know me. We've not really met. He doesn't know what kind of person I am. So it's going to be great to show up there in enemy territory and just take it from him. I'm not going to let them take it from me."
"It's something that I've been dealing with for my whole career. Jake's gonna have to stop me, and it's going to be really hard. So it's either he's gonna catch me, or it's gonna be another punishment."
