By the third and fourth rounds, Navarrete's uppercuts and body shots were taking their toll on Valdez. Despite occasional successes with his counterpunching, Valdez found himself on the defensive, absorbing heavy combinations and being dropped again at the end of the fourth round.

In the sixth round, Navarrete delivered the decisive blow—a crushing body shot followed by a relentless combination that sent Valdez to the canvas for the final time. With Valdez unable to beat the count, the referee waved off the contest at 2:42 of the round, cementing Navarrete’s victory.
With this win, Navarrete improves to 39-2-1 with 32 knockouts, reaffirming his dominance in the super featherweight division. Valdez, now 32-3, showed tremendous heart but fell short against Navarrete's relentless attack.
