The UFC brass hasn't clarified who will be the next to get a shot at the light heavyweight gold. That said, Magomed Ankalaev believes he will be the one. An X post from @ChampRDS also mentioned that Ankalaev believes his fight with Pereira might happen in May 2025:
"Pereira has not agreed to the fight, but sooner or later it will happen. I think the fight can take place in May."
Ankalaev also took to the comments section of 'Poatan's' aforementioned X post and provided him with a warning about a potential bout:
"Enjoy life champ while you can. You have been a great Champion but your time is up. See you soon"
