Divisive social media influencer Andrew Tate went off on the media after his arrest and subsequent release in light of new human trafficking allegations against him, his brother Tristan, and a few more associates. Prosecutors implored the Bucharest Tribunal court to remand the brothers for at least 30 days but were denied. Instead, the Tates were put on house arrest for the same period.
Outside the Bucharest Tribunal, a visibly upset Tate spoke to the media and addressed the new allegations of human trafficking, this time involving a minor.
Tate said:
"I moved to Romania ten years ago. And I found an amazing country filled with beautiful people. And I told the whole world about Romania... I've done nothing but promote this country, I've done nothing but say fantastic things about Romania endlessly. And when I did this, people would say to me, 'If Romania is so nice, if it's so safe, it's so beautiful, why does it have such a bad reputation?' I say there's probably a few bad actors. A few bad people who destroy the entire reputation. Like the few fools at DIICOT [Romania's anti-organized crime unit] who just came along and told us that the mothers of our children are somehow human trafficked."

Tate continued:
"I've been nice. I've been patient. I've played the game. I've respected the jiudiciary. I've gone to every appointment on time. But they busted my house again. And now come along saying there's thiry-five victims. You know, thirty of those girls have statements in our defense? Thirty saying we've done absolutely nothing wrong. Two more are the mothers of our children. And two more have never even been to Romania...This is a set-up. It's absolutely disgusting."
Andrew Tate's statement went on for much longer but you can listen to it below, as posted by Dexerto on X.
What were Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate Arrested for?
As reported by the Associated Press, Romania's anti-organized crime agency DIICOT detained Andrew Tate and co. for alleged human trafficking again. Along with this charge are trafficking of a minor(s), sexual intercourse with a minor, forming an organized crime group, and money laundering, amongst others.
The alleged crimes, which were deemed to have been committed between 2014 and 2024, allegedly generated the defendants more than $2.8 million. The agency also had reason to believe that an unnamed foreign individual allegedly sexually exploited a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old foreigner and kept the $1.5 million generated from the criminal activity.
