“Every fight is the next biggest thing” - Nico Carrillo on mounting pressure to perform at the highest level

Second-ranked ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai contender 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo of Scotland says the degree of difficulty he's had to face in his career has been steadily increasing.

The 26-year-old Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy product is getting ready for the biggest fight of life when he steps inside the Circle this weekend for the opportunity at ONE Championship gold.

And he wouldn't have it any other way.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated in a recent interview, Carrillo shared his thoughts on the way his time in the world's largest martial arts organization is going.

'King of the North' said:

"That’s just the way my career seems to be going. It’s like, everything’s newer. Every fight is newer. 'Cause every fight is the next biggest thing in my life."

Carrillo is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, with all four of his victories in ONE coming by way of knockout. He has taken out big name after big name, such as Muangthai PK Saenchai, Nong-O Hama, and Saemapetch Fairtex.

This Friday night, the 26-year-old Scottish fighter will have his chance at immortality.
