Nico Carrillo's plans to take over won't stop at the bantamweight Muay Thai division.

Turns out, the Scottish berserker also has lofty aspirations to conquer the weight class above him, currently ruled by undisputed featherweight Muay Thai kingpin Tawanchai PK Saenchai.

'King of the North' made this clear in a recent interview with ONE Championship:

“I also have aspirations to move up and challenge Tawanchai for his featherweight gold, too. I think everyone would love to see that fight."

It's clear that Nico Carrillo is quite massive for the 145-pound Muay Thai division, so it wouldn't be surprising that he'll also fit right in the stacked 155-pound ranks.

The 26-year-old headhunter has devastated everyone in his wake so far, with four straight finishes against elite competition in the home of martial arts.

This coming Jan. 24 at ONE 170, Carrillo was supposed to vie for the bantamweight Muay Thai world title against champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Unfortunately, 'The Kicking Machine' bowed out due to injury, but fifth-ranked Nabil Anane has agreed to step up in his place in an interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title showdown.

Meanwhile, Tawanchai will headline the loaded card at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, where he'll defend his featherweight Muay Thai crown against fellow Thai superstar Superbon.

Nico Carrillo believes he'll be a world champion in 2025

While Nico Carrillo's quest for 26 pounds of gold may have been delayed, he believes it's still inevitable.

'King of The North' confidently stated that it's only a matter of time before he realizes his dream of becoming a world champion on the global stage of ONE Championship.

The Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy affiliate told ONE:

“I’m relentless. I always want what’s next. I’m very proud of what I’ve done, but I won’t sit back until I’ve got the title.”

For now, Carrillo must first deny the upset-seeking Nabil Anane and further cement his place in a unification battle with Superlek once he heals up.
