A former politician recently shared a touching tale of a bank robber's generosity. According to the story, the robber avoided a lengthy prison sentence because he was nice and helpful to an elderly woman during the heist.
The individual in question is Rod Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, who was imprisoned for corruption in 2012. During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Blagojevich recalled a story about the kindness of a robber.
''There was this bank robber in prison, Michael Torres, good guy. His name is socks, robbed a bank... What he did was he robbed a bank in central California, you appreciate this, his father was a Pentecostal Minister. He walks into this bank, his father taught him to always respect the values of respecting your elders, so he storms into a bank with an assault weapon.''

''But he spies out of the side of his eye, this little old lady in a corner, trembling, standing there and at that point he recognize her and he puts his bank robbery on pause, puts it on hold and... Goes to the woman, calms her and soothes her and tells her, 'ma'am don't worry, this won't take too long. No one's going to hurt you... She tells the story about how kind he was to her in the midst of this bank robbery and the judge gave him 10 years, so his kindness to the old lady and respecting the values of his father saved him 10 years.''

Rod Blagojevich discusses the Nato bombing in Serbia with Joe Rogan
In the aforementioned podcast, Rod Blagojevich discussed his Serbian heritage and informed Joe Rogan about the past situation in Serbia.
Blagojevich discussed NATO bombings in the region to contain what was happening back then, saying:
''My father came from Serbia and I'd like to try raise public awareness about the place of Serbia... It's a country that we bombed. In 1999, the United States and NATO bombed Serbia without the United Nations' approval the way Russia's invaded Ukraine... They were trying to force the Serbian government to give up a part of their country, Kosovo. Give it up. That would be like NATO threatening to bomb us to say give up Texas to Mexico.''
