A large chunk of the MMA community bashed Conor McGregor after being found guilty in the sexual assault case filed by Nikita Hand. However, a former UFC fighter recently expressed his support for McGregor by stating that the entire thing was a conspiracy to defame him.

Nikita Hand, the plaintiff in McGregor's case, accused him of sexually assaulting her in a Dublin hotel around the time of Christmas in 2018. Multiple reports from The Mirror detailed Hand's account of how McGregor assaulted and forced her into intercourse.

Hand mentioned that McGregor choked her three times in the entire process. She also detailed that the third one made her feel like she was about to die and wouldn't be able to see her daughter ever again.

However, the former UFC middleweight, Luke Barnatt, termed the entire case as a conspiracy to hamper McGregor's public image. He reposted a tweet from an account named 'Irish Propaganda', which labeled McGregor as Ireland's disgrace.

In the caption, Barnett ironically appreciated how the account was proving themselves worthy of their name by spreading false propaganda efficiently. He also opined that the motive behind all this was to restrict 'The Notorious's' entry into politics.

"This is perfectly titled “Irish Propaganda”. You cannot trust these systems, this ruling is absolutely constructed to bring @TheNotoriousMMA down as he looks to step into politics. I don’t think it’ll work, we need change worldwide, strong men need to stand up for their beliefs and countries.
"Some drunk and drugged up 4 saying the most desired man in Ireland raped her is obviously lies to try and make her feel empowered and tarnish the McGregor name. We have to stop allowing the law to be abused and used like this. System is broken."

Conor McGregor dissed Ireland's Minister of Justice after defending himself successfully from one part of Nikita Hand's accusations

It's pertinent to note that Nikita Hand had brought two major allegations against McGregor. Hand also accused McGregor of ra*ing her apart from the sexual assault allegations.

McGregor was declared guilty of assaulting Hand, following which Ireland's Minister of Justice, Helen McEntee, appreciated her resilient mindset in this regard. McEntee said:

"I just want to commend Nikita [Hand] for her bravery, for her determination and the leadership that she has shown in what has been - I've no doubt - a very, very difficult time for her and indeed, for her family."

But Hand's allegations of ra*e were dropped by the criminal court because the pieces of evidence weren't sufficient to prove McGregor guilty. The 36-year-old bragged about this victory while providing a befitting reply to Ireland's Minister of Justice with a now-deleted tweet. McGregor penned:

"Falsely accused a man of r*pe and lost."
