Dricus du Plessis is on a mission to get even with his doubters after UFC 305 win over Israel Adesanya and his recent comments compelled an ex-UFC fighter to consider returning to the octagon.
Heading into the grudge match, experts and fellow fighters gave an edge to Adesanya due to his formidable striking arsenal. Although the mechanics of du Plessis' striking were not as aesthetic as 'The Last Stylebender', it proved to be effective as the South African hurt Adesanya on the feet and finished with a submission to retain the UFC middleweight title.
Darren Till, who left the UFC following a third-round submission loss to du Plessis in December 2022, gave Adesanya detailed advice on beating the South African's awkward style heading into UFC 305. Du Plessis took to X recently and jokingly asked Till to train him to defeat Adesanya:
"@darrentill2 any advice on beating Izzy? Please coach me, any advice will help. [Folded hands emoji]"

In response to du Plessis' post, Till insisted:
"Ur still sh** ur style just works so good for you… congrats though, I am genuinely happy for u… ur still sh** though…"
The Liverpool native then expressed the desire to return to the UFC for a one-off showing:
"I might come back the UFC just to beat DDP & leave again. What you saying @danawhite, Hunter [Campbell]?"
YouTuber MMA Guru intervened in Darren Till and Dricus du Plessis' social media altercation
Popular MMA content creator MMA Guru has been a vocal critic of Israel Adesanya. The YouTuber praised Dricus du Plessis for his classy comments on 'The Last Stylebender' despite the bitter rivalry. Till's callout of du Plessis didn't seem to sit well with MMA Guru.
Replying to Till's post, he proposed a 'winner takes all' backyard brawl with the Liverpool native at a 110 kg catchweight. Till accepted to fight the MMA Guru in Liverpool but the talk soon fizzled out.
