A former UFC fighter recently urged Mark Zuckerberg to reinstate his account, which was terminated after posting content linked to Donald Trump. On Tuesday, the Meta CEO revealed plans for significant policy changes across all their social media platforms, aiming to promote free speech for users.

Zuckerberg’s announcement centered on eliminating third-party fact-checking sources and introducing a community notes system similar to that of rival platform X. The changes also involve scaling back political content, lifting restrictions on specific topics, and reshaping the platform's approach to content moderation.

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till recently responded to Meta’s updated policies, urging Zuckerberg to restore his Instagram account, which was reportedly deleted in January 2022 after he shared a political post about U.S. president-elect Trump. In a post on X, ‘The Gorilla’ also called on platform owner Elon Musk to intervene and assist with the matter:

"Does this mean I can get my Instagram back, Mark Zuckerberg? I posted a video of Donald Trump, and my account on Instagram was taken down… I would appreciate it being re-instated… Elon Musk, ask him for me, lad."

Till is set to face off against renowned influencer boxer Anthony Taylor in an eight-round heavyweight showdown, headlining the Misfits X Series 20 event on Jan. 18 at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.

When UFC’s Sean Strickland reacted to Darren Till’s Instagram ban

In January 2022, Darren Till took to Twitter (now X) to express his frustration after Instagram suspended his account, allegedly for violating user policies.

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland responded to Till’s Instagram ban on Twitter, drawing from his own similar experience. He asserted that, unlike Instagram, Twitter remains a platform where users can express themselves freely:

"Darren Till, welcome to the Instagram ban club. Just remember this is a safe place; just because they have a C*CK and BALLS doesn't mean they're a MAN, and yes, MEN can get PREGNANT. Oh, and some people also identify as animals. So don't assume a HUMAN isn't a DOG. SAFE PLACE."
