A former UFC fighter has addressed the people's reactions to Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt. The retired MMA fighter suggested that most reactions on both sides of the socio-political spectrum indicate that the public engages in extreme idolization of political leaders.
During his speech at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, Trump was seemingly shot at. The former POTUS (President of the United States) held his right ear and ducked. The Secret Service personnel immediately rushed to cover him.
The 78-year-old stood up, pumped his fists in the air, and seemed to state, "Fight!" The visibly bleeding politician was swiftly rushed to his vehicle.

Multiple US media outlets, including CNN and Fox News, have reported on the assassination attempt. Apparently, the alleged shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by the Secret Service after he opened fire. Donald Trump was transported to a local medical facility and was declared safe. Speaking to The New York Post, Trump subsequently expressed his gratitude over the fortuitous survival.
Trump and two other people suffered injuries. Unfortunately, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore passed away while valiantly shielding his family members from Crooks' gunfire.
Many MMA fighters, including combat sports megastar Conor McGregor, expressed their support for Trump and praised him for his defiance after getting shot.
Meanwhile, the belief is that the incident marks another escalation in political polarization and violence in the US, which some attribute to the public's extreme obsession with political personalities. Taking to X, former UFC welterweight Matt Brown advised others to seek more purpose in life rather than obsess over politicians who probably don't care about them.
In contrast to many others in his country, who've been waxing lyrical about Donald Trump's miraculous escape, Brown tweeted:
"So many of you clearly need more purpose in your life. This obsession with political "leaders" is so cringe they could give a f*ck less about you while you worship them. Both sides... Get in to fitness or music or something you dorks."
Fellow former UFC fighter Jon Fitch concurred and insinuated that people who desperately seek a leader to save them drive themselves toward enslavement. Moreover, one netizen responded to Brown and implied that idolizing a politician is akin to believing that a str*pper genuinely loves you. 'The Immortal' agreed and wrote:

Matt Brown foresees Donald Trump winning 2024 POTUS elections
A US-based celebrity and billionaire entrepreneur, Donald Trump served as the POTUS from Jan. 20, 2017 to Jan. 20, 2021. Trump lost the 2020 elections to Joe Biden, who replaced him in 2021 and is the country's current president.
The Republican Party's Trump and the Democratic Party's Biden are viewed as the frontrunners in the Nov. 2024 presidential elections. Matt Brown made a series of tweets, predicting that Trump's immediate response to the attack has likely made him the favorite to win the elections.
'The Immortal' clarified that he wasn't endorsing Donald Trump but underscoring that few would dare to raise their hands and urge others to fight right after getting shot. Furthermore, in response to UFC middleweight Chris Curtis tweeting that the entire incident seemed staged, Brown tweeted:
"Real=respect or staged=genius"
