Tye Ruotolo is excited to train with his brother, Kade Ruotolo, ahead of the latter's upcoming submission grappling super-fight.
On July 5, Ruotolo returned to action at ONE Fight Night 23 and faced promotional newcomer Jozef Chen in a non-title catchweight bout. The reigning ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion failed to secure a finish before emerging victorious by unanimous decision, extending his ONE record to 7-0.
Ruotolo wasn't overly satisfied with his performance. Luckily, he won't have time to stress about not finishing Chen, as the 19-year-old is focused on his brother Kade's upcoming submission grappling match against Mikey Musumeci, which goes down inside the Ball Arena at ONE 168: Denver.
During an interview with the South China Morning Post, Ruotolo had this to say about returning to training to help Kade:

"For now, I'm gonna help him prepare for Mikey. But we also both got a comp together in the next little over a month, you know. So we're going to be training hard for that together. I'm excited to get back in the lab with my brother."
Ruotolo continued:
"It's been a while since we've put in some really good work with each other in the lab. So it's time to go back there keep evolving you know and then show why we're the best."

Tye Ruotolo and Kade Ruotolo look to extend legacy at Craig Jones Invitational
Tye Ruotolo is returning to training for more than Kade Ruotolo's upcoming submission grappling match against Mikey Musumeci. On August 16 and 17, the Ruotolo brothers will compete in the under 80kg division of the Craig Jones Invitational, founded by legendary grappler Craig Jones.
Jones started the tournament as an alternative to ADCC, which has gained backlash from the grappling community for not paying their competitors enough. The Ruotolo brothers are the perfect addition to the CJI, as they bring a level of star power and skills that can attract more viewers.
