Ricardo Ramos recently weighed in on where Alexander Volkanovski stands in the UFC's featherweight G.O.A.T debate. While the Brazilian featherweight prospect lauded Volkanovski's achievements, he believes the Australian still needs to catch up to Jose Aldo as the greatest featherweight ever.
While 'The Great' has dominated the 145-pound division since becoming champion in December 2019, he's still three defenses short of Aldo's record (seven title defenses). The soon-to-be Hall of Famer left the sport with a record of 31-8, with 17 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
In an exclusive interview with Andrew Whitelaw of Sportskeeda MMA, 'Carcacinha' was asked to pick between Aldo and Volkanovski as the best featherweight ever. He picked his compatriot, saying:

"I think Jose Aldo. How many championship fights did he win, Volkanovski? I don't know exactly, he's really good, but I think Jose Aldo is the best featherweight ever. Not because I'm Brazilian, just because he's really good."
Ricardo Ramos further outlined how 'The Great' could overtake Jose Aldo as the greatest of all time:
"Keep winning... Keep winning, get more belt defenses and he'll probably get there if he keeps doing what he's doing in the UFC. He's really one of the greats."

Ricardo Ramos on his upcoming fight against Austin Lingo at UFC Fight Night 221
Ricardo Ramos is set to take on Austin Lingo in a featherweight contest at UFC Fight Night 221 on March 11 at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old Brazilian is confident ahead of his return to the octagon and recently opened up about how his striking and ground game can get the job done.
In the same exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Ramos had this to say about his upcoming bout:
"He's a good opponent but I can find a way to win through both ways, striking and submission. I think I will feel this out in the fight and see the path I will choose towards the win."
Ramos added:
"He's a good opponent. We cannot underestimate any fighter. we are throwing punches there so... Anything can happen in an MMA fight. If he's there [UFC] then he's really qualified. For me it's just another opponent."
Ricardo Ramos is coming off a KO win over Danny Chavez in June 2022. Lingo is on a two-fight win streak, with both victories coming via decision.
