Mike Perry recently shared his thoughts on the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing match and weighed in on the controversy surrounding the final scorecards. The BKFC superstar admitted that it was a close fight and explained why Diaz may have gotten his hand raised.

Diaz and Masvidal faced each other in the squared circle on July 6 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Their boxing rematch was an entertaining affair, with both men eager to push each other to their limits. While Masvidal landed more hard-hitting shots and leaned in on his power advantage over Diaz, the Stockton slugger used his relentless high-volume striking to overwhelm his opponent.

After ten rounds of action, many expected Masvidal to get the judges' nod due to his powerful and accurate striking. However, the scorecards favored Diaz's high-volume flurries, and he got his hand raised via majority decision. This result baffled many, including Masvidal, who voiced his frustration in the aftermath.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Perry weighed in on the controversy and outlined why Diaz may have won the fight. Admitting that it was a close fight, Perry said:

"I think [Jorge Masvidal] landed the more significant strikes, but Nate [Diaz]'s pressure against Masvidal - just constantly being in his face, pushing him around, jabbing him, little sloppy shots - it added up. It was a close fight. People want to say robbery... All robbery means is that it was a close fight."

Mike Perry on potentially fighting Jake Paul in a bare-knuckle boxing match

Mike Perry is set to face Jake Paul in a highly anticipated boxing match on July 20 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Soon after the matchup was confirmed, Paul expressed an interest in potentially facing Perry in an MMA or bare-knuckle fight to prove that he could beat 'Platinum' anywhere and everywhere.

While Paul appears to believe he'd emerge victorious, Perry doesn't think the former Disney star's eagerness is genuine. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Perry shared his thoughts on fighting Paul in a bare-knuckle setting and said:

"One thing I want to remind Jake over and over again is that he wouldn't do a bare-knuckle fight. Whether he says he would or not, especially after this fight in 10-ounce gloves."

Perry continued:

"He wants to bring it up like 'boxing is this incredible sport and these hooligans are out there doing this bare-knuckle stuff' and blah, blah, blah. I'm going to beat him with 10-ounce gloves on. He definitely won't want to do bare-knuckle after that."
