Usman Nurmagomedov recently opened up about Umar Nurmagomedov's fight against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 and shared a significant update on his brother's hand injury. The Bellator lightweight champion revealed that his brother will be undergoing surgery and expects the UFC bantamweight to make a strong return to action.

In the co-main event of UFC 311 last weekend, Dvalishvili successfully defended the bantamweight title against Nurmagomedov. While the Dagestani fighter found some early success, Dvalishvili's relentless pressure and cardio proved too much for him. After five rounds of action, 'The Machine' won the fight via unanimous decision. During the fight, Nurmagomedov notably broke his hand and was forced to fight a few rounds with the injury.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, the Bellator lightweight champion gave his two cents on his brother's fight against Dvalishvili and shared an update on his hand injury. He said:

"It was a tough fight. Umar broke his arm in the first round. He still won three rounds, I think. Today, Umar has surgery, and Inshaallah, he will get back very soon... One or two fights, and he will fight for the title again."

Usman Nurmagomedov first reaction to Umar Nurmagomedov's UFC 311 loss

Usman Nurmagomedov recently took to social media to address his brother Umar's fight against Merab Dvalishvili. The Bellator champion noted that his brother braved through the fight despite breaking his hand in the opening round and vowed to work harder to make a comeback in the future.

In an Instagram post, Nurmagomedov shared a picture of the two siblings and wrote in the caption:

"People will always find flaws in you. Not everyone can please a person. You did a great job, broke your arm in the first round, but still took three rounds and fought like a man until the end. I have no doubt that you won this fight, and people can talk, let them talk. We accept the inevitable with dignity; fights are not the most important thing in life; it does not add or subtract the masculine. We will work on our mistakes, and we will come back stronger than ever. Alhamdulillah, anyway, victory or defeat, joy or bitterness. Alhamdulillah for everything!!
