The 24-year-old swept his first two matches under the world's largest martial arts organization with wins over Fuu at ONE Friday Fights 86 in November 2024 and Ran Longshu at ONE Friday Fights 93 in January 2025.

Having tasted success in the promotion while gearing up for her next challenge, the Filipina warrior assured that her performances will improve as she gains more experience competing under the ONE Championship banner.

In a recent interview with veteran journalist Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post, the Cordillera native promised this as she stated:

"Yes, definitely, I performed better than my debut because the first time, I was still getting the hang of it - you know, the small gloves, the big crowd, fighting with no gears. So I was still getting the hang of it. And now, I think I'm slowly getting used to it. The third fight, expect a better Islay"

Before signing with the promotion, Bomogao was ranked by the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations as the number one female fighter in the 45kg category.

Islay Erika Bomogao could face tougher opponents in ONE Championship moving forward in the atomweight division

With her name slowly being recognized across the promotion, the Team Bagsik representative might soon have a big target on her back if she continues to pile up the victories and once she makes her debut on the big shows outside of the weekly ONE Friday Fights event.

Islay Erika Bomogao could potentially move up in the atomweight division, where she could be pitted against established contenders like Cristina Morales, Marie Ruumet, Dangkongfah Banchamek, and Anna Jaroonsak.

However, it is still uncertain if she would be willing to add more extra pounds to compete in the 115-pound weight class because her two previous bouts were contested around the 100-pound catchweight Muay Thai category.
