"Expect a vicious knockout" - Nico Carrillo aims for ruthless finish of Nabil Anane in interim world title tilt at ONE 170

Nico Carrillo has been a man of his word thus far in ONE Championship so fans have no reason to doubt him. When 'King of the North' says he's going to do something, he has gone out there and done it each and every time.

In four fights under the ONE banner, he has produced four finishes in ruthless displays of his killer instinct and explosive power.

The No. 2-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender is incredibly dangerous and has proven that it only takes one shot for him to completely turn the tables and get his hand raised.

Nico Carrillo has once again visualized that in his return at ONE 170, the fight will end with the referee waving the fight off after he lands a big shot on his opponent.

He doesn't just think he's going to beat Nabil Anane to become the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, he told Sports Illustrated that it will be just like each of his previous appearances:

"[Fans] can expect a vicious knockout [at ONE 170]. I put my neck out there on the line, and I say that every time, but I've not been wrong yet. And I don't intend on being wrong this time."

Nico Carrillo was preparing for a totally different test

Despite having a huge change to the challenge that he will face on January 24, Nico Carrillo is still just as confident.

The Scotsman was originally set to face Superlek for the divisional gold until an injury led to the titleholder withdrawing from the contest.

With No.5-ranked Nabil Anane stepping in, Carrillo has the opportunity to leave no doubts that he is the one and only top contender in the division right now.

If he's able to go out there and finish the Algerian-Thai youngster in devastating fashion, it'll certainly send a message to the champ.
