Fabricio Andrade is excited to compete in Thailand for the second time
No.1 bantamweight contender Fabricio Andrade is thrilled to compete again in Thailand. A few months ago, ONE Fight Night 7 was scheduled to take place on February 11 in Indonesia, but it was moved earlier this month to the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on February 25.
For most fighters, big changes such as these can cause more anxiety or unwanted frustrations before a competition. But for Fabricio Andrade, the surprise was a welcoming change.
Speaking to South China Morning Post, the 25-year-old star grinned and said:
“I’m happy to fight here. If I had to pick a place besides Brazil it would be Thailand you know, I’m really excited to fight here. I’ve been living here for five years, a lot of my friends are here and it’s gonna be exciting to have everybody there, so I actually got really happy with the news that I was fighting in Bangkok.”
The last time Andrade fought in Thailand was for his promotional debut back in July 2020. The rising star only needed one round to defeat MMA veteran Mark Abelardo in stoppage time.
Ahead of the biggest rematch of his career, ‘Wonder Boy’ hopes lightning strikes again when he faces John Lineker at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
