Rising star Fabricio Andrade is determined to turn his rematch against John Lineker into a striking-only match, avoiding takedowns at all costs.

The 25-year-old bantamweight is one of the most electrifying strikers on ONE Championship's roster, boasting three knockouts inside the circle to this point.

In the lead-up to his title fight at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, Fabricio Andrade spoke to John Morgan of MMA Underground about keeping the fight standing:

"So coming for this fight, he's not going to put me down. I want to keep the fight for the whole time standing up and just be patient, take my time, because I'm going to knock him out. If it's in the first round or if it's in the fifth round, I'm going to be ready to knock him out."

'Wonder Boy' is entering the rematch with a champion's mentality after almost capturing gold last October. An unintentional illegal groin strike halted his title hopes then, but he gets another opportunity at ONE Fight Night 7.

Fabricio Andrade reflects on growing up in poverty in Brazil

Fabricio 'Wonder Boy' Andrade grew up in Brazil with him and his family struggling to get by. He went through trials and tribulations that helped form the rugged fighter we see today. Andrade spoke about his childhood with ONE, saying:

“There was a lot spent on food and clothing, but they worked hard to try to put food on the table every day and make us grow well.”

Andrade added:

“It was always very difficult for me to talk about my childhood. My family and I were very poor. I went through many difficulties when I lived in Brazil and later when I decided to take the risk of living abroad.”

Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 to watch Fabricio Andrade rematch John Lineker for the vacant bantamweight world title, live from the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

All of the action will air live on US primetime and stream free of charge to Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
