Top-ranked ONE bantamweight contender Fabricio Andrade is raring to settle his rivalry with John Lineker once and for all. So much so that he’s willing to throw done just about anywhere with ‘Hands of Stone’ at this point.

The stacked ONE Fight Night 7 spectacle could become a full circle moment for Andrade’s promising mixed martial arts career.

For one, the biggest rematch in the promotion’s history for the vacant bantamweight throne will occur in the confines of the ring inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday, February 24.

In his ONE Fight Night 7 pre-event interview with SCMP MMA’s Nic Atkin, Andrade said he’ll beat Lineker regardless of the venue. However, it will also be a cool coincidence if he makes it happen inside the ring rather than the Circle.

The Tiger Muay Thai standout shared:

“Man, I could fight him in the streets right now, so I don’t really care where it’s gonna happen. But I like to fight in the ring. Two, three years ago I had my debut in Bangkok against Mark [Abelardo] in a ring you know so three years later I’m here again fighting in the ring for the belt. It’s just meant to be.”

Before disrupting the pecking order of the promotion’s 145-pound division, Fabricio Andrade was a relatively unknown prospect who made his promotional debut at ONE: No Surrender against the tough Mark Abelardo in 2020.

He passed that test with flying colors, putting the ONE Warrior Series winner to sleep via a rear-naked choke in the second round. The rest, as we now know, is history and Andrade is now considered one of the best bantamweights on the planet.

We’ll see if Andrade can finally strike gold on ONE Fight Night 7, which will air live on US Primetime and is free for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Fabricio Andrade teases John Lineker about bringing an extra steel cup for their rematch

Even to this day, fans are still disappointed over the anticlimactic ending of Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker’s barnburner of a match-up at ONE on Prime Video 3 last year.

‘Wonder Boy’ was extremely close to becoming the first person to knock out Lineker after nailing him with a soul-crushing knee to the body.

The bantamweight world title, however, slipped through his fingers after the fight was deemed a no-contest due to an unintentional low blow that squashed Lineker’s groin cup.

This time around, Fabricio Andrade said he’ll gift his compatriot an extra steel cup to make sure their rematch won’t be cut short.

The 25-year-old quipped in the same interview with SCMP MMA:

“I would get one more anyway, so we don’t have problems on this fight. I’ll make sure there’s no problems on this fight.”
