Rising star Fabricio Andrade recently provided insight into how the no contest with John Lineker last October affected him mentally.
'Wonder Boy' put forth a great performance in his first world title fight, but an unintentional groin strike halted his title hopes for the time being. The 25-year-old discussed the no contest ruling with MMA Underground:
"Like after the fight, like I said, I had to just like, take my head out of it, you know? Because I was too stressed about everything and I just had to get past all of that stuff. But now I just feel like it’s gonna happen, you know, it’s gonna happen. I was asking so many times for the title shot and I kept fighting, knocking people out, it doesn’t happen and then I finally get it and almost knock him out, and don’t get the belt, just like, ‘Damn!’ It’s hard to explain."

"But it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen you know and it’s gonna happen in Thailand. Everybody’s gonna be there, I have a lot of friends here, gonna have a lot of support and it’s gonna be a good day for me."
The bantamweight contender has the opportunity to right the wrongs in the highly anticipated rematch at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

Fabricio Andrade doesn't believe fighting Lineker in a ring will change things much
The ONE bantamweight world title rematch is slated to take place at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand. Instead of a cage, the bout will take place in a ring, but Andrade doesn't see it making a big difference.
He stated:
“I think there’s a little bit of a difference in the rules. If you get taken down then you go to the ropes, I think the fight comes back standing up, but it doesn’t change much, you know. We’re gonna be in front of each other and it is what it is.”
John Lineker is hoping to reacquire bantamweight gold after being stripped because of missing weight prior to his first meeting with Andrade last year.
Be sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 to watch Fabricio Andrade rematch John Lineker for the vacant bantamweight world title, live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The entire event will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
