Brazil’s Fabricio Andrade may not have been entertained, but he was impressed by Stephen Loman’s performance against Bibiano Fernandes.
Through 2022, Andrade has emerged as the top fighter in the ONE Championship’s bantamweight division. As ‘Wonder Boy’ prepares to face John Lineker in their highly anticipated rematch, Stephen Loman has proved himself to be the next in line for whoever claims the vacant world championship at ONE on Prime Video 7.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Fabricio Andrade gave his thoughts on Loman’s performance against former champion Bibiano Fernandes at ONE on Prime Video 4:
“He definitely dominated Bibiano, not only in the striking part. He was able to put him [Fernandes] to the ground and control him on the ground, because most of the guys from Team Lakay, they don’t have control. They were always getting submitted by Bibiano, but he [Loman] was very comfortable on the top and just blocking all the attacks.”

Whilst Andrade went on record previously saying how 'boring' the fight was to watch, it was undoubtedly a huge win for Stephen Loman that pushed him right into title contention in just his third fight with the promotion.
Loman will be watching closely on February 10 to see which Brazilian knockout artist he will be facing for the world title.
Fabricio Andrade returns to training with Anatoly Malykhin at Tiger Muay Thai
Fabricio Andrade is gearing up for his return in 2023, when he will once again compete for the vacant bantamweight world championship against former titleholder John Lineker.
At ONE on Prime Video 7 in February, the inconclusive end to their first meeting will be put to bed when they meet in a straight rematch with the belt on the line.
Training out of Tiger Muay Thai, ‘Wonder Boy’ revealed in an interview with ONE Championship that his friend and training partner, newly crowned two-division world champion Anatoly Malykhin, has returned to the mats:
“Anatoly is always here [in Tiger Muay Thai], I don’t think he’s training at the moment. He’s still enjoying his big win, you know, but he’s always in the gym. He’s always supporting his fighters and stuff you know. But a lot of people here in the moment, it’s busy. It’s a good time to be here as well, it’s good to back.”
The undefeated Russian is still riding high from scoring the biggest win of his career in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 5 in December. Already holding the interim heavyweight championship, Malykhin claimed the light heavyweight title when he put his undefeated record on the line against Reinier de Ridder’s similarly perfect resume.
Fabricio Andrade will be hoping to follow in his much larger friend's footsteps by delivering a statement victory to become the world champion at ONE on Prime Video 7.
