Fabricio Andrade is deservedly confident going into his rematch with John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.
With the vacant ONE bantamweight world championship on the line, the two Brazilians will look to close out this chapter, which has been prolonged by the inconclusive result of their first fight.
At ONE on Prime Video 3 last October, their fight ended in a no contest due to an unintentional low blow that John Lineker couldn’t continue from. Though he failed to win the ONE bantamweight world title, Fabricio Andrade showed just how good he is in the biggest fight of his career to date.
Dominant for the majority of their first contest, that experience will give ‘Wonder Boy’ a lot of confidence going into their rematch, knowing he can hurt his opponent and nearly finished him the first time around.

In an interview with ONE Championship, ‘Wonder Boy’ spoke about just how confident he is ahead of February 24, alluding to a prediction that he will finish Lineker wherever the fight goes:
“Now there’s no more talks, I know what I’m gonna do, and I’m gonna be ready for everything. If he gives me any opportunity, I’m gonna submit him as well.”
ONE Fight Night 7 is live and available for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Fabricio Andrade says John Lineker’s success in wrestling him was only "caused by mistakes" on his part
Though Fabricio Andrade dominated the majority of the contest against John Lineker in their first fight, the former world champion did have success in one area.
Just as Andrade had predicted in the build-up, his striking offense forced Lineker to change his game plan and look for takedowns to recover and take Fabricio’s range advantage away.
Going into their rematch at ONE Fight Night 7, Fabricio Andrade believes that it was his own mistakes that led to Lineker’s grappling success.
In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Andrade reflected on the first fight and the improvements he will make for the rematch:
"He was a little bit successful on the takedowns, that's the only reason why I would believe he will try them more because that was mostly where he was successful. But it was just also caused by mistakes on my part because I was a bit anxious and rushed it a little bit."

After the way that their first fight went, Andrade doesn’t have a whole lot of things he needs to improve on after displaying his skill. The striking of ‘Wonder Boy’ was the story of the fight and if he is able to keep the fight standing, he will no doubt once again present some real threats to the former world champion.
It is up to John Lineker to find a way to negate Andrade’s weapons that were very effective the first time around. That could mean an even heavier focus on grappling after having success with it at ONE on Prime Video 3.
