‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade and ‘Hands of Stone’ John Lineker engaged in a back and forth war of words leading up to the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3. With both men making bold predictions, it was Fabricio Andrade who was proved right.
Though their fight ended in an unsatisfying conclusion, ‘Wonder Boy’ delivered on his promises and was getting the better of Lineker until the stoppage.
After a knee landed low to the groin of John Lineker, the former champion couldn’t continue after his recovery period and the fight was declared a no contest. At the time of the knee, Andrade was in the ascendancy and seemingly moments away from getting a finish.
Speaking to The MMA Superfan, ‘Wonder Boy’ revealed what was said in the brief exchange between the two inside the circle once the fight was stopped:

“It was just like, ‘Oh you broke my cup.’ [And I said] sorry.”

Following their fight, Andrade and Lineker have continued to go back and forth with their takes on the fight. Whilst Andrade sees himself as the uncrowned champion, John Lineker believes that he was still in the fight until the unintentional foul.
A huge rematch between the two Brazilians may be on the cards after how their first fight delivered on the hype for as long as it lasted.

Undefeated bantamweight contender Fabricio Andrade was seemingly moments away from finishing John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3. An unintentional knee to the groin caused a stop to their fight, robbing Andrade of the performance of his career to date and the bantamweight world championship.
Despite his own disappointment, 'Wonder Boy' recently admitted that he made a mistake in putting too much pressure on trying to put his opponent away. In an interview with SCMP MMA, Andrade said:
“I put a lot of pressure on myself. I don’t need anybody to do that for me because I already put a lot of pressure on myself. A lot of people doubted that I can beat him. There was a lot of pressure and I wanted to finish him in the first round. I wanted to finish him easy.”

The No.1-ranked bantamweight contender may have missed out on the world championship but he did earn a lot of respect for his performance. Fabricio Andrade showed himself to be the real deal when he stood toe-to-toe with the dangerous former champion and displayed his world class striking.
