Fabricio Andrade believes Demetrious Johnson’s victories over Adriano Moraes further elevated his status as the true MMA GOAT.

The ONE bantamweight MMA world champion has been a fan of the multi-time MMA world champion since he started his martial arts career, and his admiration has only grown even more ever since the Washington native started plying his trade for ONE Championship.

In under five years, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has continued doing what he does best as part of the world’s largest martial arts organization, taking out the best on offer on his way to the divisional gold and the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship.

And the 26-year-old Brazilian believes Johnson’s most recent victories over the division’s most dominant world champion were his way of showing fans why no one can hold a candle to his status as the very best in the sport.

Speaking to The MMA Superfan, Fabricio Andrade said:

“First fight was a surprise for everyone, to see him get knocked out like that. But in a fight, things can always happen. But after the two fights, he showed why he is the best. Striking wise, takedowns, everything.”

Before Johnson’s arrival, ‘Mikinho’ dominated the division in separate spells within the past 10 years. On top of that, he had never been knocked out throughout his decorated career.

But in his world title rematch at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August last year, ‘Mighty Mouse’ executed a crushing flying knee knockout to end Moraes’ reign at the top. Then, this past May, Johnson defended his gold against the American Top Team and Constrictor Team athlete.

Following the win, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has been contemplating retirement. But Fabricio Andrade hopes the MMA GOAT contender continues for a couple of years as he eyes a feisty matchup against the flyweight MMA king.

In the meantime, ‘Wonder Boy’ attempts to gain two-sport glory at ONE Fight Night 16 on Friday, November 3. He faces Jonathan Haggerty for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing gold.

North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch all the action live and for free in U.S. primetime.
