Fabricio Andrade is all out for a win in his rematch with John Lineker for the vacant ONE bantamweight world title later this month and will not take anything less.
“Wonder Boy” makes another run for the 145-lb division gold at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video on February 24 in Bangkok after his first title showdown with “Hands of Stone” last October ended in a no-contest.
Fabricio Andrade is determined to have a definitive outcome this time around with him on top. In an interview with SCMP MMA, he shared his mindset heading into his upcoming fight:
“I know how I was feeling. I was comfortable. I know I was winning [in the first fight]. But like one of my coaches said, what matters is the decision in the end, what the referee is going to say. So they didn't say I won, so for me, I lost.”

Fabricio Andrade was dominating Lineker in their first encounter with his striking and was seemingly on his way to capturing the bantamweight world title.
The fight, however, took an unfortunate turn when 'Wonder Boy' accidentally struck Lineker with a knee to the groin in the third round. Lineker was given five minutes to recover but was ruled unable to continue, rendering the match a no-contest.
Now in the redo, Andrade is mindful of what he needs to do, staying aggressive but more precise with his attacks. ONE Fight Night 7 will happen at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and will be broadcast live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Fabricio Andrade says he’s got the world champion mindset heading into John Lineker rematch
Brazilian fighter Fabricio Andrade considers himself the ONE bantamweight world champion in waiting and seeks to make it official at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video later this month.
'Wonder Boy' squares off anew with former champ John 'Hands of Stone' Lineker for the vacant bantamweight gold in the promotion’s February 24 event at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
Andrade said he is ready and has the winning mindset in his push to add his name to ONE’s roster of champions. In an Instagram post, he wrote:
"In my previous fights you saw a hungry fighter that wants to be the champion, this fight you gonna see the champion defending his throne! 👑 @johnlinekermma see you soon"
'Wonder Boy' missed out on a golden opportunity to claim the bantamweight world title in his first title clash with Lineker last October when the contest was ruled a no-contest. It is something he does not want a repeat of.
Andrade has been a juggernaut since entering the promotion in 2020, winning his first five fights before the sorry outcome last time around.
