Fabricio Andrade believes his tough upbringing prepared him to succeed in an otherwise difficult career.
On February 24, ‘Wonder Boy’ will once again have the opportunity to become a ONE world champion when he squares off with former world titleholder John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker in a highly anticipated rematch.
Following their unfortunate no-contest at ONE on Prime Video 3 in October, the two Brazilian heavy hitters have been chomping at the bit to get back inside the Circle with one another. They’ll do exactly that in the ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video main event this month.
Ahead of their clash at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Andrade spoke to ONE Championship about his confidence going into the bout:

“I think I’m so confident because I went through so much difficult stuff that this is not difficult anymore.”
Fabricio Andrade comes from very humble beginnings and while he didn’t go into detail regarding his difficulties as a child, Andrade previously revealed that as a kid, he had no real goals or direction until he began training in martial arts. Finding success competing as an amateur, Andrade began to receive compliments that quickly boosted his confidence and helped him become the ONE Championship superstar that he is today.
The pair’s rematch, as well as the whole ONE Fight Night 7 card, is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Fabricio Andrade believes more people need to focus on themselves
With so many distractions in the world today, it’s easy to lose sight of one’s self and the goals you hope to achieve as you work your way through life. For Fabricio Andrade, the trick to becoming a better person and striving for greatness was fairly simple, yet often overlooked:
“I think we have to forget about everything around us and focus only on ourselves, on what we want to improve,” Andrade said. “We are often not happy with what we are doing and the way we are living, so sometimes we need to stop and think about what we really want to do and focus on that."
He added:
“Over time, it is possible to increase this self-esteem. But it’s not something that happens overnight. We are slowly building this, creating that trust. We need to focus, know what we want, and thus build confidence to be happy.”
Right now, Fabricio Andrade is focused on getting ONE Championship gold wrapped around his waist. Fans can watch Andrade vs. Lineker II live and for free in U.S. primetime on Amazon Prime Video in North America on February 24.
