Fabricio Andrade received a lot of praise for his performance against John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3, but he believes he still has a lot to show inside the circle.

The 25-year-old has been a striking sensation since arriving at ONE Championship in 2020. The only blemish on his run is his no-contest result against Lineker in October 2022. Whilst he may have landed an unintentional low blow that caused an end to the fight, his performance against the former world champion in the biggest fight of his career to date was very impressive.

Training out of Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand, the improvements that Andrade has already made during his time competing under the ONE banner can clearly be seen, and he is keen to showcase them at ONE Fight Night 7.

In a recent interview with the South China Morning Post, Fabricio Andrade said that we haven’t seen the best of him yet, not by a long shot:

“Hundred percent man, I’m always improving. I’m 25 years old, I’m still learning so much. My coach is always like teaching me new stuff you know. Always improving and I got a surprise for him for this one as well. It’s gonna be exciting.”

Fabricio Andrade not happy he got grappled by John Lineker - “I don't believe he's a good wrestler”

Whilst Fabricio Andrade had a lot of success striking against John Lineker in their first meeting at ONE on Prime Video 3, there was one aspect of the fight he wasn’t happy with.

Usually, John Lineker finds himself in the position of defending takedowns as opponents look to avoid his knockout power, but against Andrade, he found himself trying to take the fight to the floor.

In what started as a way for him to recover from Andrade landing some big shots, Lineker found some success with his grappling that could be seen as a key method to victory ahead of their rematch at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Fabricio Andrade said that he was frustrated by being taken down by John Lineker as he doesn’t believe that his opponent is a better grappler:

“I'm happy with my performance in the first fight, but I think because I rushed a little bit, I gave him an opportunity to take the fight to the ground, and I don't believe he's a good wrestler, so I was not happy when I got taken down.”

Fabricio Andrade even criticized Lineker for his decision to look for takedowns and mocked him for breaking their no-grappling pact.

If ‘Wonder Boy’ is able to keep the fight standing where he can showcase his elite Muay Thai skills, John Lineker could be in for another rough night on February 24.
