“I train like I fight” - Fabricio Andrade says his intensity is the same in the gym as it is inside the cage

Fabricio Andrade has quickly developed a reputation for being one of the most intense fighters in all of ONE Championship. His tactical yet hard-hitting method of attack has earned him an undefeated record of 5-0 inside the circle with three spectacular knockouts.

The next time we see ‘Wonder Boy’ step inside the cage, it will be against reigning ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker. Ahead of the world title clash, Fabricio Andrade sat down with Tudor Leonte of Sherdog.com to discuss his preparations for the U.S. primetime main event. When asked if his intensity was the same in sparring sessions as it was inside the circle, Andrade said:

“I will say I’m even more [intense]. I train like I fight... I don’t like to lose even in training. I have this crazy mentality that I have to beat everyone. Every time we spar, I drop everybody. My mentality is really crazy even in training. I always push myself to the limit. Even if it’s cardio or anything I do, I want to be the best and I want to be better than everyone.”

So far, Fabricio Andrade has been exactly that; better than everyone else. On October 21, ‘Wonder Boy’ will get the chance to prove he is the best bantamweight in the world when he meets fellow knockout artist John Lineker in the ONE on Prime Video 3 headliner.

Fabricio Andrade is more than ready for the bright lights of the main event

When Fabricio Andrade steps inside the Circle on October 21st, it will be by far the biggest fight of his young career. ‘Wonder Boy’ will not only challenge for his first ONE world championship, but he’ll also do it under the bright lights of the main event stage. One can certainly understand the pressure a fighter may feel heading into that situation, but for Andrade, it all feels very natural.

“Honestly, it feels natural. You know, for me, I think I have been [visualizing] this moment for so long that everything just feels normal for me right now.”

Of course, that can all change once the cage door closes. With 10 career bouts and five wins under the ONE Championship banner, Fabricio Andrade’s experience should carry him through the high-stakes affair. Whether or not he can handle the power of John Lineker’s ‘Hands of Stone’ is a completely different question.
