Rising ONE bantamweight star Fabricio Andrade was on the cusp of securing a world championship at ONE on Prime Video 3. However, an unintentional low blow by him ended the bout in a no-contest, leaving the belt vacant.
Still, the No.1-ranked contender displayed championship talent in his first attempt at gold. Self-admittedly, the pressure was weighing heavy on the 25-year-old's shoulders heading into the contest.
However, he wasn't feeling the burden of pressure from fans but rather from himself. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Andrade spoke on the topic:
"You know, all of this fight camp, I think I put a lot of pressure on myself, just because John Lineker was kind of like an opponent that I’ve never faced before. People were saying that. I think I put a lot of pressure on myself, on my diet, everything. It was a lot, you know?"

Luckily, it appears as though fans won't have to wait too long to watch Andrade grace the circle again. He recently took to Instagram to inform fans that he has an opponent as well as a date. The details haven't been made public yet.
Fabricio Andrade receives high praise from legends
'Wonder Boy' has been impressive since joining ONE in 2020, but his performance against John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3 put the world on notice.
MMA legend Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson recently joined Joe Rogan on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The two had nothing but praise for Andrade.
The Brazilian phenom is itching to get back in the circle and secure the belt he feels is rightfully his. According to Fabricio Andrade, an immediate rematch with Lineker is possible, but it's up to 'Hands of Stone'. He told ONE:
“ONE is interested in doing a rematch. I'm also very interested. I would like to face him again, but he came out of the fight very hurt. I don't believe he wants the rematch. But if he wants to, I don't know how long he'll need to recover and do this fight again.”
Be sure to check back for an announcement regarding Fabricio Andrade's next fight, as it's sure to be for the vacant bantamweight world title once again.
