Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker battled it out for the ONE bantamweight world title before it was vacated, and it’s only fitting that the same two men will get the chance to earn the strap.
Combate reported that the top two fighters of the bantamweight division will battle to crown the ONE bantamweight world champion at ONE on Prime Video 7 in February 2023. The event will emanate from Indonesia as listed on the promotion’s website, and will be broadcast live and for free to all Amazon Prime Video subscribers across North America.
The first meeting between the two hard-hitting fighters started off as good as advertised, as both Andrade and Lineker traded bombs in the middle of the Circle. ‘Wonder Boy’ looked to be getting the better of the exchanges, as Lineker showed visible signs of damage to his face.

However, the match came to a screeching halt in the middle of the third round, after an unintentional knee to the groin put ‘Hands of Stone’ down on the mat and unable to get back in action after a five-minute recovery period.
With Lineker surrendering the world title before the match as a result of missing weight and the match ending in a No Contest ruling, the ONE bantamweight world title is currently held by no one.
Fabricio Andrade wants to make quick work of John Lineker in their rematch
Fabricio Andrade has already proven that he’s not all talk, especially after the work he put in on John Lineker in their matchup at ONE on Prime Video 3.
Heading into their rematch, the young Brazilian is even more confident that he will get the job done if they do step inside the Circle for a rematch. In an interview with SCMP MMA, Fabricio Andrade said:
“For the fans, just keep waiting because this will be my best performance ever. I have everything planned out and I will prepare very well. I already know everything he can do and I’ll make it look easy."
A rematch between the two Brazilian powerhouses will certainly be a welcome treat for fans when ONE Championship returns to Indonesia for the first time since February 2020.
