MMA fans have been reacting to an old interview from Colby Covington, which showed the welterweight contender praising Jon Jones and offering him support.
Back in 2015, following a unanimous decision victory over Mike Pyle at UFC 187, 'Chaos' spoke to the media. After first answering questions about the fight, he was then asked about 'Bones', who had just been involved in a hit-and-run. The light heavyweight champion had crashed his car into two other vehicles, injuring a pregnant woman, and then fled the scene.
Jones was later charged with a felony and stripped of the 205-pound title by the UFC. He avoided jail time after pleading guilty but was handed a 18 month supervised probation and ordered to work 72 days for charities.
Covington, who these days is happy to bad mouth Jones at any opportunity, expressed his disappointment at the news and offered him his support, even referring to the time the pair lived together in college. He said:

"It's unfortunate, he [Jones] was a really good friend in college. We spent two years sharing a bunk bed together...It kinda sucks that happened but I hope he learns from his mistakes...I want him as a person to be able to pull himself out of this."

Colby Covington reacts to Jon Jones' victory over Stipe Miocic
Colby Covington recently reignited his rivalry with Jon Jones once again. His comments came after the welterweight contender was asked about his former friend's heavyweight title defense over Stipe Miocic.
Ahead of his bout against Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa this weekend, 'Chaos' spoke to the press at the media day. He was then asked about 'Bones', where he opted to go off against the heavyweight champ. He said:
"He knows deep down inside, like, I know his dark, hidden secrets that are in his closet. He’s been with some of the fattest, 300-pound slobs. It’s disgusting. Dude, Jon Jones is an absolute f**king disgrace to this earth. He’s a f**king joke... He’s a f**king coward, he’s a cheat, and he’s a woman beater.''
