UFC fans around the world recently chimed in with their predictions for a hypothetical cross-promotional event between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Bellator MMA.

The debate stems from the upcoming Bellator MMA and Rizin Fighting Federation's joint-event, which will take place on New Year's Eve. The event will be contested under Rizin's ruleset, meaning soccer kicks and knees to the head on the ground will be legal.

The best fighters under contract in both promotions will go toe-to-toe, with the likes of AJ McKee and Patricio Pitbull fighting on the card.

MMA Mania recently posted an image on Twitter with the UFC's top 10 lightweights side-by-side with Bellator's top 10. Many fans appeared in unanimous agreement that it would be a 9-1 result, if not a 10-0 sweep, for the world's premier promotion.

One matchup in particular seemed to trouble fans, which featured Arman Tsarukyan vs. Peter Queally. Several were adamant that Tsarukyan would utterly destroy Bellator's No.9-ranked lightweight.

@PCOF17 even stated that the UFC fighter would go to prison for what he would do.

Some fans reckoned that Bellator superstar AJ McKee would most likely beat veteran Rafael dos Anjos.

Dana White wants the UFC in Africa as soon as possible

The UFC's popularity has expanded at an exponential rate since the pandemic in 2020. After taking risks that other sports wouldn't, and showcasing fights when no other sports were on TV, the promotion is bearing fruits from its labor.

With a fight card almost every weekend for all 52 weeks of the year, the president of the company is eager to host a pay-per-view event in Africa as soon as he can. The presence of African fighters has grown tremendously over the years. Until recently, the UFC had two champions hailing from Nigeria, and one from Cameroon.

But despite former champions Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman both being defeated this year, White is eager to go to the continent:

The president of the promotion recently sat down with Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA, saying:

"If I don't seriously start looking at Africa, and making the moves to do something over there, another 10 years will be gone. So it's a focus for me now, it's something I want to do. And wants I set my mind to something I do it."
