Jose Aldo has been accused by fans of being a 'fascist' following the MMA veteran's decision to allow disgraced former Brazil president Jair Bolsonaro to reside in one of his homes.
Bolsonaro's presidency was due to end on December 31, but the 67-year-old fled Brazil prior to the end of his tenure and has been staying at Aldo's Orlando, Florida place of residence for the Christmas period.
According to reports, the former prime minister was due to be arrested in a police probe on corruption charges before leaving the country.
Journalist Karim Zidan tweeted:

"While Bolsonaro extremists storm Brazilian congress and the presidential palace, the former president is currently living in the home of ex-UFC champ Jose Aldo in Florida"
Fans have been reacting to Aldo housing the far-right politician, with one fan suggesting that there are too many fascists and right-wing entities in MMA:
"Too many fascists in MMA and BJJ."
Another fan joked that the only reason for Jose Aldo's behavior in hiding Bolsonaro is because he is suffering from CTE caused by Conor McGregor's KO victory in 2015.
"CTE. Conor is responsible for this"
Twitter user @MMAwatcher5 expressed his disappointment with the former featherweight champ and believes he's turned on his own people.
"Kid from the favela turning on his own people."

Jose Aldo is set to make his boxing dream a reality
Following a loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278 in August 2022, Jose Aldo decided to call it time on his illustrious MMA career. The 36-year-old walked away with a 31-8 record and is considered by many to be one of the greatest featherweight champions in history.
Whilst most would assume Aldo to spend his retirement away from sports altogether, the Brazilian is actually testing the waters in a new venture, boxing, which he claims will be a dream come true.
Aldo appeared on the Trocacao Franca podcast back in October to discuss life post-retirement and confirmed his desire to try boxing:
“It [Boxing] was always a dream I had in my life, I never hid that from anyone. It was always a dream. But let’s see. Everybody says I’m still young, that I have a few years [left].”
The Brazilian veteran has a bout confirmed for February 10, 2023, but as of yet there are no official details on a weightclass or opponent.
