Fans lament over “cursed” UFC Abu Dhabi cards, claim it’s where “legends go to die”

Some MMA fans do not appear too happy about how events have unfolded at some of the UFC Abu Dhabi cards that have taken place in recent years.

An MMA account named @McGregorRousey2 shared a series of pictures on X, that featured several fan-favorite fighters suffering defeat while competing in Abu Dhabi. The pictures showed Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski losing to Islam Makhachev, Robert Whittaker being submitted by Khamzat Chimaev and Max Holloway being finished by Ilia Topuria.

In the caption of the post, the user wrote that they had no intention of watching another UFC fight card that would take palce in UFC Abu Dhabi.

"I'm never watching a UFC Abu Dhabi card again."

The post caught the attention of multiple MMA fans who shared their thoughts in the comments section.

One person called Abu Dhabi a 'cursed' place which is not suitable for UFC fans.

What happened at UFC 308, which took place in Abu Dhabi?

UFC 308 took place on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The event was headlined by a featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway.
