Fans react to Allycia Hellen Rodrigues’ intense neck strengthening exercise

At ONE on Prime Video 5, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues returns to the circle after a long time away from competition. On Friday, December 2, Rodrigues will defend the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world championship for the first time against Janet Todd in a world title unification bout.

ONE on Prime Video 5 boasts a huge card with three world championship matches in three sports for ONE Championship’s return to Manila. It will air live and for free for North American viewers with a Prime Video subscription.

After dethroning Stamp Fairtex on her promotional debut, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues has been out of competition for over two years. After announcing that she would be taking some time away from the sport due to the birth of her child, ONE Championship allowed her to keep hold of the world championship.

As the champion looks to step back inside the circle for the second time, ONE Championship posted a video on Instagram of her neck strengthening exercise that caught the attention of fans for several reasons.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, Janet Todd to unify ONE women’s atomweight Muay Thai world titles

In one of four world championship matches, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues will defend her atomweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE on Prime Video 5 against Janet Todd.

After the champion has been away from competition for over two years, the fight will be the long-anticipated title unification for the division.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues’ first title defense will be just her second appearance inside the circle after she took a leave of absence after getting pregnant and giving birth to her son.

Her debut came back in August 2020, when she put on a great performance to dethrone Stamp Fairtex at ONE: A New Breed.

For Janet Todd, she has been waiting patiently for her shot at the full world championship. The reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion and ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world champion has a huge opportunity on her hands against the returning Rodrigues.

Todd, who also defeated Stamp Fairtex in 2020 to win her world championship, became the interim Muay Thai champion in July at ONE 159. With a unanimous decision win over Lara Fernandez, Todd set up this huge fight with the champion for her inevitable return to competition.
