This past weekend saw former unified heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua pick up his first win since 2020 when he outpointed Jermaine Franklin over 12 rounds in London.
Following his win over Jermaine Franklin, Anthony Joshua appeared on iFL TV to conduct an interview with Laura Woods.
In discussion were Joshua’s recent win and the potential of fights against Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

However, it’s safe to say that most fans seemed more focused on Joshua’s apparent chemistry with Woods than anything that the former unified champion had to say.
Twitter user @TheArtOfWar6 described Joshua as “going full Rizz” on Woods when he stated that her career had “blossomed amazingly...just like you.”
One YouTube commentator was even more humorous, with a comment on the video that has thus far received 1.3k likes:
“Laura’s getting the wood”
Other YouTube fans went down the same kind of path:
“Laura woods and AJ raw is not what I was expecting”
“Laura and AJ go ‘raw’ is an interesting title”
“Wow, am I watching Blind Date? Or is this Take me out? I came for a boxing interview”
Jokes about the apparent flirting between the two weren’t the only thing picked up on, though, as some fans reacted to Joshua being seemingly more relaxed than he’s looked in a while:
“Nice interview and nice to see AJ looking relaxed and like he doesn’t have the weight of the world on his shoulders”
“This was actually a nice interview. Love learning more about AJ. Good man.”
Other Twitter users, though, continued to focus on the chemistry.
One fan even compared the interview to a clip from an infamous adult site, while another compared it to the legendary interview between Paula Yates and rocker Michael Hutchence, which led to their relationship in the 1990s.
Who is Anthony Joshua set to fight next?
Following his victory over Jermaine Franklin at the weekend, no official time frame or opponent has been given for Anthony Joshua’s next trip to the squared circle.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that bouts with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, two of the other top heavyweights of Joshua’s era, seem “inevitable.”
Hearn also claimed that a fight in the summer would work for ‘AJ’, but that his fighter first needed to continue to improve under coach Derrick James.
With Hearn clearly suggesting that he’d like Joshua to fight more often, though, we should probably expect some kind of announcement about his next fight in the near future.
