'The General' Jonathan Haggerty made his debut in the bantamweight Muay Thai division at ONE on Prime Video 4. It was an extremely close fight against Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin, however, the British-born athlete walked away with the win.

The clip shows the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion framing and throwing a lightning-fast lead-foot head kick. The strike landed flush on Kuzmin's head. 'The General' attempted to follow up, but the Russian athlete clinched to defend himself.

Fans had many thoughts on the clip and the fight as a whole. ONE Championship followers shared their views in the comments section. Instagram user Joel Moya said:

Jonathan Haggerty victorious in bantamweight Muay Thai

After struggling to make the flyweight limit twice this year, the British-born striker Jonathan Haggerty is now moving to the bantamweight Muay Thai division. He earned his first victory in the weight class at ONE on Prime Video 4.

After the match, 'The General' said in his post-fight interview:

“You know it was a tough fight. It could have gone either way. Hats off to Vladimir. What a great opponent. Maybe one of the strongest opponents.”

The British-born fighter continued:

"To be in this organization is a blessing. Thank you everyone for just, everything really. I am overwhelmed. I appreciate everyone for you coming out to support us athletes. Thank you for coming out and I hope I put on a show for you guys. The next one will be better, I promise.”

Finally, Haggerty called out the top of the bantamweight Muay Thai division:

“I told myself I’m going to come out here and start naming names, but I’ve been in this game a long time. I have been training for 16 years fighting the best fighters in the world and I’m ready for number one, number two, number three. Let’s go.”
