Fans on social media recently assessed and critiqued Jonathan Haggerty’s ability to control distance inside the circle with a clip ONE Championship shared this week.

The Instagram reel showed ‘The General’ using his footwork to mix in various counter attacks to widen the distance between himself and his opponent.

In the subsequent sequence, Haggerty kept Joseph Lasiri at bay by utilizing a combination of inside elbows, push kicks, foot jabs, and many more in just a span of a few seconds.

Some fans responded positively and praised ‘The General’ for demonstrating some of his greatest strengths. However, others aren’t too convinced he’ll be able to use the same approach against the “great” Nong-O Hama this month.

The UK superstar is en route to challenging long-reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video on April 21. Haggerty is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, two under the flyweight category and the other at bantamweight.

Despite the fans’ growing concerns about Haggerty’s upcoming battle, the 26-year-old star is no stranger to fighting legends. He has notable wins against the finest Muay Thai strikers in the world, including Mongkolpetch Petchyindee and the legendary Sam-A Gaiyanghadao.

Nong-O Hama is arguably just as dangerous as the aforementioned warriors in terms of experience, technical abilities, and brutal power. So, if Jonathan Haggerty plays his cards right, he has as good a chance as any to take the world champion into deep waters and win by decision.

ONE Fight Night 9: Nong-O Hama vs. Haggerty goes down on Friday, April 21, at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and will be aired for free for Amazon Prime subscribers in North America.
