Fans react to Kevin Holland's hilarious meme showing Islam Makhachev holding an IV kit

Islam Makhachev's first lightweight title defense against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284 has been marred by controversy in its aftermath. Volkanovski's City Kickboxing teammate Dan Hooker alleged that the champion cheated through intravenous infusions (IV), which has caused a stir in the MMA community.

UFC welterweight Kevin Holland took a dig at Makhachev by taking to Instagram to post a meme of the No.1 pound-for-pound fighter holding an IV kit.

One fan reminded Holland of his last loss against Khamzat Chimaev and warned that Makhachev will replicate the same:

"Cant win a fight but always coming at others 😂. Islam will finish you as quick as khamzat."

Other fans found humor in Makhachev's manager Ali Abdelaziz's inadvertent tweet and his self-sabotaging actions:

While some fans admonished Holland, others speculated about the controversial bias surrounding fighters from different races:

Fans also called for proof while still trolling Islam Makhachev:

Islam Makhachev's manager Ali Abdelaziz inadvertently tweets out a potentially incriminating tweet

Islam Makhachev's IV controversy was further worsened by Ali Abdelaziz's ignorant tweet, wherein he claimed that the UFC lightweight champion was within the permitted boundaries of IV usage. Abdelaziz tweeted and later deleted a tweet that read:

"For all those idiots out there, any fighter under the UFC banner can take 2-3 liters of IV as long as it's done by a nurse or a professional. Next week, I'm gonna expose everybody. Islam Makhachev is the pound-for-pound king."

Abdelaziz's deleted tweet was addressed by Ariel Helwani, who clarified that the permitted volume of intravenous infusions is 100 milliliters within a 12-hour period.
