Khabib Nurmagomedov remains one of the biggest stars the sport of mixed martial arts has ever produced and his large fanbase has been left ecstatic as the former UFC lightweight king made a big announcement on social media.

Despite making it clear his intentions to stay retired and never return to compete in the cage ever again, many are still speculating whether he will make a sensational comeback. While he announced that it won't be in MMA, his latest post on Instagram has only elevated those beliefs of him one day returning to the octagon.

After Khabib Nurmagomedov updated his supporters on his next move with a somewhat encrypted message, fans rallied to put the missing pieces together and guess what the Dagestani is training for.

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Georges St-Pierre: Will the dream matchup ever become a reality?

Throughout the height of Khabib Nurmagomedov's career, many were questioning how he would have looked against some of the greatest fighters to ever step foot into the octagon, with Georges St-Pierre being a regular in those discussions.

Both men have publicly shared their vocal appreciation of one another, but GSP has insisted that, while a fight under the UFC banner will never become a reality, he would be open to a potential grappling or submission clash between the two.

'The Eagle' stepped away from MMA over two years ago due to the passing of his late and great father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, with the promise of never fighting in the cage again.

While he hasn't broken that promise, it remains uncertain whether Khabib would be open to competing in an exhibition bout in the future, knowing a friendly matchup against St-Pierre would undoubtedly make for a huge event.
