"I wholeheartedly congratulate my dear BROTHER, grandson of the First President of the Czech Republic, Hero of Russia AKHMAT-HADZHA KADYROV, representative of the Republican sports club "Akhmat" Eli Kadyrov with a bright victory in the ASA 150 tournament! Debuting in MMA in a duel with Islam Akbarov in Moscow, Eli demonstrated excellent fighting skills and will to win by sending his opponent off in the first round. I sincerely wish Eli good health, further success in sports! I GAVE a little bit of beer, yay! AKHMAT-FORCE! ALLAH IS THE GREATEST!" [Translated via Instagram]

While the Chechen-born posted it in good faith, it did not go over well with fans, who had mixed feelings about it as many claimed the fight to be rigged. One of them jokingly referred to 'Borz' as the rookie fighter's "nanny" in response to the post.

Khamzat Chimaev's career in the UFC so far

'Borz' made his debut in the welterweight division of the UFC back in 2020 against John Phillips. The 28-year-old successfully defeated his opponent via second-round submission.

The Chechen-born Swede has an impressive six-fight winning streak in the promotion, defeating the likes of Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland. Chimaev remains undefeated in his pro MMA career, with 12 wins to his credit.

'Borz' has expressed his interest in moving up to middleweight and fighting current champ Alex Pereira for the title. Given his clean record in the sport so far, it will be interesting to see what the fighter has in store for his fans.
