Conor McGregor faces legal troubles from his old teammate Artem Lobov over 'Proper No. Twelve' whisky
Conor McGregor is seemingly no longer close friends with Artem Lobov after the latter reportedly initiated legal proceedings against the Irish megastar.
Lobov has alleged that he initially came up with the idea of launching an Irish whisky brand with Conor McGregor but was left out of the equation once 'Proper No. Twelve' took off.
The Russian initiated High Court action yesterday, with claims that due to his efforts in creating 'Proper No. Twelve', he has an agreement that entitles him to five percent of the money 'The Notorious' made from the sale.
In a statement to the Irish Independent, Lobov's lawyer, Dermot McNamara, stated:
"My client is a retired professional fighter with a master’s degree from DCU in Finance and Capital Markets. We have issued High Court proceedings to enforce an agreement with Mr. McGregor. My client was the initial creator and co-founder of the concept of launching an Irish whisky brand associated with Mr. McGregor.”
Artem Lobov had previously stated his involvement with the whisky brand in an interview with Jordan Ellis of talkSport. The former UFC lightweight contender also claimed to have turned down a $1 million offer from 'The Notorious' for his troubles.

However, in a statement by Conor McGregor's spokesperson, 'The Notorious' has called Lobov's claims "incorrect."
