Fans are defending Rodtang Jitmuangnon after ONE Championship posted a highlight of him getting dumped in a Muay Thai fight against Walter Goncalves.
ONE usually shares videos of Rodtang dominating his opponents, and for good reason. ‘The Iron Man’ has become one of the most beloved fighters on the planet for his fan-friendly fighting style.
Hence, the ONE community didn’t find it as entertaining when he was on the receiving end of a highlight.
In October 2019, Rodtang fought Goncalves, a Brazilian Muay Thai fighter, for the flyweight world championship. During the bout at CENTURY Part II, ‘Iron Hands’ dropped ‘The Iron Man’ with a Muay Thai dump.

ONE recently posted the highlight on Instagram, and fans defended the fan favorite in the comment section:
“How bout we play the rest of the fight”
“@rodtang_jimungnon he’s my goat for real he still won😂"
“Why y’all do my boy rodtang like that 😭”
“He still won tho 😂😂”
“@rodtang_jimungnon still the man so, iron chin man. Play the rest of the fight”
Rodtang went on to win by split decision and defend the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship, extending his promotional record to 6-0. Since then, the 25-year-old has defended his title three more times.
The question is, what’s next for the Thai superstar?
What’s next for Rodtang Jitmuangnon?
Rodtang Jitmuangnon last defended his Muay Thai title against Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4. He craved a new challenge, leading to his return to the flyweight kickboxing division.
After receiving a late-notice opponent change, ‘The Iron Man’ was matched up against Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6, winning by a dominant unanimous decision.
Following Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s impressive performance, Superlek defeated Daniel Puertas to secure the vacant flyweight kickboxing world championship. Considering they fought and won on the same night, it wouldn’t be surprising to find the two striking standouts paired up for a match soon, either for the Muay Thai or the kickboxing world title.
During an interview with SCMP MMA, ONE CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong said the matchup between Rodtang and Superlek makes sense, but nothing has been confirmed.
