Ronda Rousey's apology for the Sandy Hook school shooting has divided fans online. Just an hour ago, the WMMA legend took to X/Twitter to address her actions from 11 years ago. Her full thoughts proved too lengthy for one tweet, so Rousey resorted to sharing two screenshots of an apology she had drafted.
For context, Rousey made the most controversial decision of her career in 2013 when she reposted a Sandy Hook conspiracy video on X. The conspiracy in question alleged that the mass shooting that left 26 dead at the Sandy Hook Elementary School was staged.
While she subsequently deleted the video, she was unapologetic, claiming that researching rather than accepting the official government-fed narrative was patriotic. This led to tremendous backlash and later resurfaced in a recent Reddit AMA she conducted, which was flooded with Sandy Hook questions.

With her hand forced after her disastrous AMA, which was only meant to promote her upcoming graphic novel 'EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED,' she issued an apology on X, but it was polarizing, to say the least.
One fan questioned the timing of her apology, given that it was done at 2:00 AM E.T. (Eastern Time).
"Post at 2am on a Friday. You still aren't taking responsibility by trying to hide the apology in the least active timeframe."
Some fans pointed out the 11-year wait for an apology while expressing hope that it wasn't Rousey's attempt at damage control after her failed AMA.
"I read all dat. 11 years too late, but better late than never. Hope you truly meant these words and this isn't just some PR talk after your disastrous AMA. Cheers."
Others, though, commended her for finally owning up to her actions.
"Fair play Ronda, fair play. It's the right thing to do, no matter how long it took."
Unfortunately for Rousey, many of the comments were highly critical of her.
"You seem mentally ill, Ronda"

Rousey is no stranger to controversy, but this is undoubtedly the biggest scandal the UFC Hall of Famer has ever courted.
Ronda Rousey's conspiracy theories were brought up during her stint with WWE
While Ronda Rousey was in WWE, she was booked into a storyline feud with veteran pro wrestler Natalya. During their program, Natalya tweeted about Rousey's belief in conspiracy theories.
"It was either do a channel with my hot sister, or bring people to a rock at the back of my farm to cry and talk about conspiracy theories."
Natalya's tweet was in response to Rousey's criticism of her conduct with her sister on their YouTube channel.
