Fans react to Sage Northcutt’s awesome physique ahead of highly anticipated comeback

When Sage Northcutt makes his long-awaited return to ONE Championship, he will make good use of every ounce of the 170lbs limit.

The twenty-six year old gave his best Baywatch impersonation in a recent Instagram post where emerges from a neighborhood swimming pool, likely to down a few protein shakes or run a quick marathon.

Sage Northcutt isn’t just a gym hero, but his strength and conditioning is one of his top strengths in the cage. From his early years, he wowed fans with his hand speed and knockout power during his run in various promotions in North America.

After sitting out for nearly four years, Sage Northcutt will leave the pool for the ONE circle this May when he fights Ahmed Mujtaba at ONE Fight Night 10. Sage has been living and training in Sacramento, California, returning to full health and currently getting prepared for his upcoming bout at Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male.

Sage Northcutt credits his wife for supporting during time away from fighting

In the years aways from fighting professional MMA, Sage Northcutt fell out of the center of the public eye.

He had the freedom to focus on his health, try snowboarding, and get married. Sage married voice actor Amanda Leighton in 2020, whom he credits as a rock of stability for him these past few years.

Northcutt spoke to ONE Championship recently about his relationship with his wife, saying:

"Having someone that’s there to support you and that’s what you look for, that’s what you want. That’s always a great feeling for one thing, just having someone. If you can have someone that’s on the same page as you, that’s awesome, too. So, I think marrying the right person, there’s so many great things you can go on for days about it. There’s a lot of great things from it."

Not everyone is supportive of their spouse fighting in a cage, so Sage truly found a good partner who encourages his ambitions.

He’ll have the chance to show off the new version of himself later this spring when he makes the trip a few states east to Colorado. Not only is the fight with Pakistan’s Mujtaba significant for his own career, but it’s a major landmark for the promotion as a whole.

ONE Championship has held events across Asia over the past decade, from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur. While the Amazon Prime deal had created an avenue for American fans to watch ONE in their own prime time, ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 will give them an even more intimate experience for the first time: watching a ONE Championship event in person.
