‘Supergirl’ Anna Jaroonsak returns to the circle almost a year removed from her last appearance at ONE: Heavy Hitters in January 2021. On Friday night, the 19-year-old Muay Thai sensation will run it back with her last opponent, Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva as part of the promotion’s stacked ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video lineup.

ONE Championship previewed the upcoming contest between the two skilled strikers on Instagram with a brief highlight reel.

Ekaterina Vandaryeva looks to right the wrongs in her first meeting with ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak

Last January, Anna Jaroonsak scored her second straight win inside the circle, but the victory came with a heaping dose of controversy.

Jaroonsak walked out of the Singapore Indoor Stadium with a split-decision victory, but the general consensus was that Vandaryeva did enough to win the bout. Even ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong chimed in, sharing his dislike of the decision in an appearance at the post-fight press conference:

"I thought Ekaterina won easily and she staggered Supergirl and the judges got it wrong. We are going to have to work with other judges. It’s just they made errors, especially in the striking stuff. People might disagree with me but I thought Ekaterina won. I don’t know what the judges are watching."

The ONE CEO called for an immediate rematch between the two:

"I would want an immediate rematch between Ekaterina and Supergirl. As being someone who does Muay Thai for 35 plus years, I can tell you, Ekaterina won that fight easily. It was not even close."

A rematch is exactly what will happen this Friday night at ONE Fight Night 6. Jaroonsak will look to prove herself in front of the live crowd at Impact Arena in Bangkok, while ‘Barbie’ aims to get that elusive first win inside the circle.
