China's Zhang Peimian is hoping to work his way back to another world title shot—and fans are reacting to the contender's relentless attack.

In his second appearance in the circle, ‘Fighting Rooster’ showcased skills beyond his years as he furiously attacked Aslanbek Zikreev. Zhang’s masterful performance led to his second win in the promotion and a world title shot against Jonathan Di Bella for the vacant strawweight kickboxing world title last October.

While the 19-year-old phenom came up short in his world title challenge, he's now looking to bounce back with a win at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video when he takes on Russia's Torepchi Dongak.

Before his return to the circle, fans were treated to a highlight of Zhang’s performance against Zikreev.

Zhang Peimian willing to work his way back to a title shot, credits his parents as motivation

The Chinese striker won 11 of his first 12 pro bouts prior to signing with ONE Championship. Upon entry, he picked up victories over Josh Tonna and Aslanbek Zikreev to earn his world title shot.

Of course, the result wasn't what he was hoping, but Piemian tells ONE that he's willing to work back to another opportunity. He stated:

“To get another World Title shot, I have to put together a winning streak. So this fight, or the next, or maybe if the promotion thinks I need three more shots before I get the rematch, I must win them all. We are targeting the belt, and everything before that is just a stumbling block."

'Fighting Rooster' added with a message to his parents and coach:

“My parents are my motivation. I will prove myself and repay my parents for their parenting. The most important thing for me [was also having a] coach that always encouraged and supported me. I grew up and realized that I didn’t get here by accident. It was the team that made me.”

Be sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 8 on March 25 to watch Zhang Peimian take on Torepchi Dogak in a critical strawweight kickboxing bout, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The action will be broadcast live and for free to Amazon Prime subscribers across North America.
