Conor McGregor gives his first thoughts about his fight against Michael Chandler
Conor McGregor has announced his return to the octagon. The former UFC lightweight champion will first work as a coach in season 31 of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. After the season ends, he will take on his rival coach Michael Chandler in what is expected to be a welterweight fight. This marks McGregor's fourth fight in the division as he looks to become a three-weight world champion.
Ahead of his highly awaited return to the octagon, McGregor spoke to Donagh Corby from Mirror Fighting about his fight:
"Looking forward to it. Feel good, feel energetic, feeling ready. You know, I'm throwing up my high kicks faster than I'm throwing up my jab, so I'm very excited to get back alright."
Conor McGregor will fight Chandler, who is himself looking to get back to winning ways after having won just one out of his last four fights. Similarly, McGregor has also won just one of his last four bouts. The matchup is a make-or-break fight for both fighters.
