UFC 287 brought controversy as fans claimed Joe Rogan was 'biased' during the commentary for the co-main event.

Jorge Masvidal fought Gilbert burns in the co-main event, in what promised to be a slugfest. The fight delivered to the hype as 'Gamebred' tried to give his home crowd a good performance despite getting outclassed by 'Durinho' at UFC 287. The Brazilian was running away with the fight and was clearly dominating the Miami native. However, after the third round, Rogan called it an even round.

The statement prompted SpinninBackfist to tweet out saying:

"Did Joe Rogan really say that this has been a close third round? WHAT????? #UFC287"

One unique user tried to defend Rogan by saying:

"Masvidal connected plenty and performed far better than most expected in general against absolutely top-tier competition. I get why Rogan who really likes the guy was focused on that. Of course Burns beat him handily but Jorge went out on a great note"

Jorge Masvidal announces retirement following his loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287

Jorge Masvidal had stated he could step away from the octagon, even before his co-main event at UFC 287. The Miami native stated that if he lost against Gilbert Burns, he would hang up his gloves. True to his word, after being handed a unanimous decision loss against Burns, he made it official during his octagon interview with Joe Rogan.

Jorge Masvidal thanked his hometown fans who came out to support him and spoke about how he had been fighting for over 20 years. The veteran then added that he made enough money and accomplished enough inside the octagon to call it quits. He then turned his interview political by calling Donald Trump the greatest president in the world and starting a chant.

His opponent Gilbert Burns does not believe Jorge Masvidal will stay retired following UFC 287 and even went on to call him the 'new' Nate Diaz of the division.
